Dear Old House

This WordPress.com site is the cat’s pajamas

Mim sent me a really great map of the street she grew up on in Chicago.

Her letter says:
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois, right near Garfield Park and the Conservatory. My friends and I would ride to the conservatory and play inside. I guess it was free to get in, or minimal cost.
Our fathers made us an ice rink in the grassy area in winter. They hosed it with water that froze. It made a smooth surface to skate on. It was such fun.
My apartment building is no longer there. It is gone! There’s only an empty lot there.
